Young voices for our planet – Tuesdays 4-5pm

Primary Perspectives is Australia’s first specialty radio show created to provide an opportunity for primary school children to start a meaningful dialogue about their care and concerns for our planet and what they can do to create a sustainable future. Produced by the multi-award winning Wonderful World Media Network, this innovative children’s show offers the opportunity for young people aged between 8-12 years to become a part of the production team and to present on live radio. Primary Perspectives’ junior team pitch their subjects at a level most suited to their audience’s maturity. Members of the team also suggest topics and research content and news items, as well as engage guests to make sure they are constantly contributing to the production process. In the monthly segment ‘Personal Perspectives’ the team speaks with children from all over the world about topics that matter to them – young voices speaking out for our planet.

Other regular segment include:

And here is some great feedback about the show!

“Primary Perspectives is one of my favourite radio shows. The kids who present it are all well researched, enthusiastic and articulate. They also seem genuinely interested in their guests although, in my case, it’s possible they were just being polite!!” Tom Gleisner, Writer/Performer, Melbourne

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed speaking with Miani, Lily and Teasha on Primary Perspective. How refreshing the team are; so articulate, so compassionate and filled with empathy for all species. Your show is a wonderful one. Congratulations. I have never heard of a program with young people being given their own voice. It is unique and I am so glad it exists. Thank you for permitting me to be a part of it. Lynda Stoner, Animal Lib Aust

“I really enjoyed the radio experience. I learnt so much and it was a great opportunity to address some really imports issues. It is something that I will remember for the rest of my life.” Chloe, 12 years

“The Radio program was an amazing experience. It helped me to build my confidence, and now I am able to look back and be proud of myself. It was fantastic to be able to spread the word for students to become more proactive with actions and make better sustainable choices.” Noah, 12 years

“We need our children to have a sense of what’s real and Primary Perspectives offers them the ability to research and form opinions and then translate this across the airwaves and this, in my opinion, is one of the ‘real time’ exciting breakthroughs in education. What we are seeing with Primary Perspectives is the opportunity for our primary students to adopt life-long attitudes to take out into the community. The journey and engagement for our students involved in the ‘Green Team’ presentation has been a sensational way of bringing their leaning into the realm of reality”. Jon Pittard, Principal, The Peninsula School Junior Campus

“My 3 daughters aged 5, 8 & 10 love tuning in on their way to afterschool activities. The topics are relevant, interesting and my daughters enjoy hearing the kids present. If we lived closer to Box Hill the kids would like to be involved. The music is age appropriate too and enjoyable for both mum and the kids.
The Veggie Patch with Jane Burns for BFA Organic Schools Garden Program and Vasili from Good Gardening Magazine
Stories from Secret Gully – radio plays with the Secret Gully puppets and Heather Lawrence / scripts by Peter Harris

Green Lane Diary with Green Cross Austalia and participating schools from around Australia
From Little Things Big Things Grow with the Jane Goodall Inst Roots & Shoots program
Wonderfully Wild with World Wildlife Fund
Let’s Talk Tech with the ATA and GENI Foundation
The Goss on Gloss – health, well-being and self esteem
Diffuse the News & Weekly Wonder Words

And here is some great feedback about the show!
